Ways of Looking at Your Website Like Your Customers See It

When is the last time you stopped and really looked at your website? Do you read it like a customer would, or do you already know what’s there? Most of us look at our website and skim past most of it because we know most of what is there already. This could be costing you customers. You need to look at your website at least 1-2 times per year with a fresh perspective. That way, you see what your customers see. Here are some tips to see it that way.

Sit Down and Look At Your Website with a Friend

Get out your laptop, tablet, or phone, and go over your website with a friend. Have them read the website’s content out loud as you go through it. Make sure the verbiage resonates with your branding and what your want your audience to know. Do the images make sense? Is the full message there, or is something missing? The more you get across on your website, the easier it is for your audience to get to know you. Your friend can point out areas that confuse them or leave them wanting to know more. These are gaps you should strongly consider filling.

Ask Your Audience for Feedback

Did you recently set up a new website or update an old one? Then try asking your audience for feedback. Most people who know and trust you already will feel honored to do this. They can tell you both what they love and what they would change if it was up to them. Talk with them and get their ideas. This can be a great way of connecting with your audience.

Ask Professionals About Your Website

When you are still not sure if your website is set up properly for your customers, then ask us. It is our job to know what consumers like, since that is the knowledge we use for SEO.
