What All Goes Into Creating an SEO Strategy?

Creating an SEO strategy or plan is extremely beneficial to your website, as it helps you figure out what you should focus on to improve rankings for certain keywords. However, there are many components that go into creating this plan. Here is a break down the different elements of an SEO strategy and their importance

Goal Setting

One of the most important parts of your SEO strategy is goal-setting. Without setting goals. you won’t know where to start with improving any aspect of your site’s search engine optimization. You can have as many goals as you would like, but typically they should be focused around increasing organic traffic from search engines to your website by focusing on particular keywords.

Keyword Research

Another important aspect of any SEO strategy is keyword research. When creating a strategy, it is important to know which keywords you should be focusing on so that your site can be found in search results for these terms. There are many different sources through which you can find relevant keywords. The best places to start are with either branded or unbranded phrases. Branded keywords are ones that include your brand name, while unbranded keywords do not contain this information.

Technical SEO

Technical SEO is important to any website, but particularly when you are creating an SEO strategy because it can often be a limiting factor in if your site will rank at all. To perform a technical SEO audit on your website, you need a few different tools that analyze how your website functions. These tools allow you to find errors and duplicated content across a site which could prevent a page from ranking well. Some other factors that should be considered while performing a technical on-page SEO audit is how quickly the website loads, meta data usage, and image file names.

On-Page Optimization

On-page optimization is the process of improving your site’s pages to rank higher in search engine results. This includes things like optimizing page titles, meta descriptions, headings, alt tags on images, URL structure, and more. Want to find out more about what should go into your SEO strategy?
